AP Chairman: "Obama Bin Laden"

Mon Apr 14, 2008 at 12:51:31 PM PDT

I'm sorry if this has been posted, but I just saw it on MSNBC and found this from Fox News:

At the close of Q and A at an Associated Press luncheon in Washington, DC, AP chairman Dean SIngleton skipped over a question on what’s becoming known as "bitter-gate" in favor of asking Illinois Senator Barack Obama what he surely thought would be a less controversial question on Iraq.

Would the senator be willing to shift a substantial number of troops from Iraq to Afghanistan, asked Singleton, where the Taliban has been gaining strength — and "Obama bin Laden" is still at large.

The room was quiet - as the crowd contemplated whether they’d heard what they thought they heard. But Obama, apparently, heard the same thing. After a pause and a smile, he said "I think that was OSAMA bin Laden."

Has anyone seen this video?

Video: Obama on Iraq War Vote - 11/02

Thu Feb 22, 2007 at 10:19:33 PM PDT

Saw this video posted over at Talking Points Memo, and I hadn't seen it or heard these exact quotes before.  I think that statements like this can hopefully change some people's perceptions when it comes to Obama's lack of experience, specifically foreign policy experience.  I'm just sick of hearing that experience is such an important factor in determining how effective a President will be.  George H.W. Bush and Richard Nixon had tons of experience, how did that work out?

Competence is far more important than experience, and I see little evidence to suggest that Obama is incompetent.  He showed excellent foresight in this video, and obviously understood the implications of an invasion a helluva lot better than most of the other candidates.

UPDATE: I just found out there is a similar diary right underneath this one.  My mistake.
